What did this study find?
Patients with cervical disc herniation were randomized to pulsed electromagnetic field treatment combined with TENS and hot packs, or to a sham version of the same package. Both groups improved on anxiety measures; the active group improved more at twelve weeks. Because treatment was bundled, the field's independent contribution cannot be isolated.

A positive PEMF study is not evidence for a specific device unless the signal parameters studied, frequency, intensity, waveform, and exposure duration, are reasonably comparable to what that device produces. Where this record does not list those parameters, the source report did not publish them. See the grading methodology. Library last reviewed 2026-08-27.
